Wednesday, January 24, 2024 / Categories: Mansfield Job Sites Backed Up Sewer The customer’s sewer line has been backing up every year for a few years. They were using someone else who was snaking the line to get it unplugged. After a referral they gave us a call. The snake was putting a hole in the roots and the swelled cast iron pipe past the trap. However, it was not completely cleaning the pipe or taking the cast back to the original diameter. We also found the cast iron trap had rotted out causing additional issues. We found the proper way to repair the sewer line was to cut up the floor, remove and replace the old trap, as well as use a jetter (high pressure water) and a picote machine (mechanical robotic cutter) to clean the cast to original diameter (by removing scale and roots) then the floor was re-concreted shut. This sewer line here will not have any issues for a very long time. Wet Basement & Yard Roots Are A Problem! Print 1694
